The impact of HIV/AIDS on hunger was underscored, by efforts to integrate prevention into school feeding programs in sub-Saharan Africa. The FAO reported a rise in the global number of chronically hungry people, casting doubt on the achievement of the UN’s Millennium Development Goal to halve hunger by 2015 without increased political will and resources.
