Shehbaz Sharif Calls for Accountability and Peace

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the recent bombing in Beirut, calling for Israel to be held accountable for its actions. He expressed deep concern over the escalating violence, underscoring the importance of justice and accountability in maintaining international peace and security. His remarks came during the Security Council’s ‘Leadership for Peace’ debate.

Addressing the council, Sharif emphasized the need to implement longstanding Security Council resolutions on Kashmir. He warned that unresolved conflicts like Kashmir pose a serious threat to regional stability, urging the international community to take concrete steps toward a peaceful resolution in line with these resolutions.

The prime minister also voiced his concerns over the ongoing war in Ukraine, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities. He stressed that the illegal use of force in any conflict is unacceptable and called for a peaceful, diplomatic solution to the crisis.

Sharif’s remarks highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to global peace and stability, while urging the Security Council to act decisively on critical issues that endanger international security, including conflicts in the Middle East, South Asia, and Europe.
