Chairman's Message

“Whereas the peoples of the United Nations have in the Charter reaffirmed their faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person and in the equal rights of men and women and have determined to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom.”

The present global situation with insurmountable problems is rapidly changing and precariously turning towards the worst. The world is confronted with the menace of poverty, hunger, terrorism, sufferings from war atrocities, natural disaster, genocide, armed conflicts and gross human rights violations posing a threat to peace and stability around the globe.

Today, the need for greater harmony and cooperation between the countries is needed more than ever before to combat these evils.

We, at ICOHR, are committed to achieving the goals set forth in the UN Charter to strive for the progress of human civilization. We reaffirm our sincere commitment to ensure freedom, equality, solidarity, poverty eradication, democracy, good governance and the right to self determination.

I am optimistic that the day is not too far away when we can begin to live in a world of freedom and justice, a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international rights standards.
